J-term Trip to the Philippines

HUPF conducts an annual J-term trip to the Philippines, during which a team of approximately 15 students fly to the Philippines. The goal of this trip is to develop a deeper understanding of the rich and abundant Filipino culture in Luzon and some parts of the Visayas. We prioritize engaging with locals of diverse backgrounds, interacting with student leaders, and visiting key cultural sites to develop cross-cultural competencies and develop a sense of identity and rootedness. We hope to nurture in our students a lasting love for the Philippines that will continue to ground our on-campus Filipino and Filipino American community in our shared history.

The program is funded, in part, by the Harvard Asia Center and by several generous sponsors in the Philippines, including members of the Harvard Club of the Philippine Global (HCPG).

Applications are currently closed for J-term 2025.

Please look out for our J-term 2026 applications around October 2025.
